I am so excited about the prospect that these blogs will make a difference for new and veteran performers alike. I spent a long time thinking about the perfect topic for Inner Circle\u2019s first blog. The impetus for creating this platform was to inform, inspire, and create a community. To make a difference. To DO instead of complaining about the way things are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s only fitting then that the first topic be this very concept of DOING. It\u2019s a concept that we learn in the craft of acting\u2026 while thinking is important, doing\/intention\/actively affecting the other people are even more important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We live in a society that mainly uses the brain\u2026 We think and think\u2026 and think a little bit more. And then we think again before committing to doing something. We want it to be 100% perfect before doing it because we have been taught that if we fail, we will face an endless wave of taunting, teasing, insults, ridicule, and shame. We all know how horrible that feeling is. We don\u2019t want to feel that uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This indecision is an instinct designed to protect us, to keep us safe, but it ends up paralysing us instead, keeping us rooted in inaction.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
People often spend years talking about all the dreams they have, all the things they want to achieve\u2026 but don\u2019t take a single step toward them, because they are afraid to do the wrong thing, to fail.\u00a0 To that, I say: Go ahead, fail!! Doing the wrong thing is better than doing no thing at all. Because words and theory don\u2019t teach, experience does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The very failure we are so desperately trying to avoid brings learning and wisdom that would propel us farther than the best-laid plans with no action ever would.\u00a0 Waiting to be 100% ready costs us opportunities\u2026 and those opportunities\u2026 never return.\u00a0 So wherever you are right now, just start. Just DO.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
